Taro Fields of Hanalei
The Hoʻopulapula Haraguch Rice Mill operates as a non-profit organization. They are dedicated to preserving agricultural history with a focus on the cultivation of taro. They are active in their involvement of environmental education and restoration efforts to preserve local wildlife habitats and preserve the rice mill (listed on the National Register of Historic Places).
Schedule an eco-tour adventure to learn about the family’s 100+ history of owning the taro farm their challenges, and more. After the tour shop for and enjoy a tasty treat or something sweet and/or savory to take along. They also have a shop with products you can take home with you.
